I took this photo of a U.S. Masters Swimmer with my Canon G10 (aka camera #3), which was protected in an underwater housing case. We were at the shallow end of a 25-yard pool, and I was essentially on my back on the pool’s bottom. Most of the lanes had pool covers over them, which is what creates the dark background. I like this image for two reasons. #1: It almost doesn’t get any better than combining my love of swimming with my love of photography. #2: This swimmer, Rebecca, is a fitness fanatic. Despite being a true athletic animal, when I first met her and asked her to join me in a triathlon, she confessed her fear of swimming. She later joined the local U.S. Masters Swimming program, pushed through her fears, and now rarely misses a workout. Look at her form!
